On the second day of the Serie A Baseball championship, in group B, Camec Collecchio’s brace (10-0 and 3-0) against the “Kennedy” of Milan against 1946 stands out. Padova and Farma Crocetta draw in the series in group C ; Oltretorrente, in group E, wins the first, then fails to touch Sheldon in game 2.
Milan 1946 – Camec Collecchio
Diego Fabiani gives security (5IP, 4H, 2 BB, 10K) and attack Camec Collecchio celebrates with twelve hits against the pitcher’s mound Milano 1946. At the “Kennedy”, celebrating the home debut of Milano Baseball, which granted the honor of the first pitch to Guido Redaelliborn in 1935, Milan’s oldest player having debuted in Serie A in 1952, the Emilians won a one-sided match as evidenced by the result 10-0. The second half of the lineup contributed in particular, with the hitters from the fifth to the ninth box capable of producing eleven hits and six runs batted in. Especially on shields Fabio Sorrentino (3-5, PBC) e Thomas Delmonte (2-4, 3PBC), the latter crucial in the four-run fifth inning with a bases-loaded double.
The Emilian biancoblu close the sweep in game two thanks to a Dariel Gongora 18 strikeouts in 8 innings. The thirty-one year old Cuban left-hander opened the game with eight consecutive strikeouts and won the match against his compatriot Randy Cueto who pitched six innings without allowing any runs. The game breaks the deadlock in the top of the seventh inning: Collecchio fills the bases and scores two runs on a fly ball Filippo Daddi missed by the right winger. Between the eighth and ninth innings, with the hits of Pietro Mantovani e Charlie Mirabaland two sacrifice flies, the points of 5-0 finale.
Padua – Crocetta Parma
One win each between Padova e Farma Crocetta at the Plebiscite, which keeps both teams in perfect balance between victories and defeats.
The first act of the series belongs to the Venetians, which ends at 7-1 thanks to two big innings which allow the hosts to collect 6 scores with the hits of Well (double), Eyelash e Novello. Crocetta who, despite the 8 hits, is unable to materialize the opportunities created, also thanks to the great performance on the mound by Clay Gonzalez (winning with 7 IPs).
Crocetta’s revenge comes in game 2, where Gerali’s boys lead from start to finish thanks also to a Carrillo in amazing form (for him 8.0 ip, 0 er, 11 so). Result that he breaks free in the fourth inning with 3 points, thanks to the jokes of Generally e Sambucci (3 RBI for him), and then consolidated in the following rounds up to 7-0 overall.
Ciemme Oltretorrente – Senago
There are no longer any undefeated teams in Group E of Serie A, after the defeat in Game 2 of the Ciemme Oltretorrenteon the friendly field against the Senago. The Emilian formation, led by Claudio Corradi, won 10-2 in Sunday morning’s match. The Parma team, after recovering an opening double from Calasso, thanks to the hits of Ragionieri and Pomponi, took off between the third and fourth innings, scoring five points. Carnevale (3bv-6so) and Allegri (salvation) thought of supporting the Ciemme mountain. The Lombard team redeemed themselves in the second thanks to a nice finish. The Lombards immediately went ahead 2-0, but Parma went 4-2 in the 4th; Leonesio shortens to the fifth, then a 5-point big-inning takes the guests by storm, supported by the great winning relief of Bryan Sheldon (2bv-11so).
