Modena: the new season of the Terramara park is starting.

It kicks off Sunday 2nd April the new season of Archaeological Park of Terramara di Montalea unique place to get to know how our Bronze Age ancestors lived in the Modena area.

On the occasion of reopening the parkas per tradition, will be at the entrance free. In addition to guided tour to the archaeological area and the reconstructions of the village discovered in Montale, i participants they will be able to attend demonstration of experimental archaeology from the bronze castingby the “Three of Swords”team made up of archaeologists Federico Scacchetti, Luca Pellegrini and Andrea La Torre which will show how weapons, tools and ornaments were made.

Il Park will be open all the sundays eh holidays until’June 11thwith a rich program of appointments e visit topics: sunday 9 Aprilthe Easter at Terramara we celebrate with “The Art of Weaving”guided tour dedicated to the millenary tradition of willow processing to make baskets, with a workshop for children to weave original Easter baskets filled with chocolate eggs.

Monday 10th April become “Archaeologists for a day” which literally puts everyone to work, children and parents, to discover the techniques of excavation and interpretation of materials (by appointment only).

Dedicate yourself to food it is also the last appointment of April: Sunday 30 April, “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” in the company of archaeozoologists who reconstruct the history of food thanks to the study of animal bones and who offer children a fun quiz to discover food preservation techniques in the past.

A maggio e June there is no shortage of demonstrations of others ancient craft techniques such as modeling ceramics, weaving, chipping flint, building houses without bricks and a new appointment dedicated to the flavors of the terramare and many themed workshops for children and teenagers.

Among appointments not to be missed, Monday 1st May a dedicated day at the Arco al Parcowith reconstructions of historical bows by Marco Bonini and shooting tests for everyone with the archers of the San Galgano di Formigine cultural association; Friday June 2nd “Terramaralive”a day dedicated to the re-enactment in costume to relive the atmosphere of a terramara animated by figures at work inside and outside the homes.

Il entrance ticket to the coast archaeological park 7 euros (reduced 5 euros, free up to 5 and over 65 years), free on the first Sunday of each month. 50% reduction on the ticket with the Parco di Montale Fidelity card.
