NBA, Lonzo Ball has surgery for the third time: he misses the entire 2023-24 season

Next time we’ll see Lonzo Ball on the court we will probably be very different people than we are today. According to reports from ESPN and The Athletic, the hapless Chicago Bulls point guard has decided to undergo a third surgery on his left kneewhat prevented him from taking the field from January 2022 onwards, making him miss 14 months of basketball. At least as many, if not more, he has ahead of him to be able to return to the field: both Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania in fact speak openly of possibility that Ball will miss the 2023-24 season entirely after having already lost the one currently in progress, thus postponing his eventual return to the parquet until the autumn of 2024 — this time, hopefully, permanently. The hope is that with this third surgery of cartilage transplant not only can he heal completely, but also save his career given that in the summer of 2025 the four-year 80 million contract will end signed in 2021 with the Bulls. Who, for their part, will at least be able to think about next season’s team already knowing he can’t count on the former Lakers and Pelicanswhose goal now must be to solve once and for all the situation of a knee that prevents him from running and jumping without feeling pain.
