concussion for Timothy Weah, withdrawal from Team USA

Lille’s Timothy Weah, victim of a concussion on Saturday against Toulouse and forced to stop for seven days, will miss the rally with the American selection, Losc announced on Monday.

Touched in the 95th minute of the match won by Lille in Toulouse (2-0), Weah must also be evaluated Monday by a neurologist approved by the Professional Football League (LFP), said the northern club.

The United States face Granada on March 25 and El Salvador three days later in the Concacaf Nations League.

Forward, Weah currently plays full-back in Lille due to injuries to Ismaily and Bafodé Diakité. In defense, Tiago Djalo is also injured.

If the medical opinion is favorable, the son of the former Liberian Ballon d’Or, now 23, should be available for Losc’s next match, April 2 against Lorient for the 29th day.
