Citadel of basketball The project is approved Here’s what the new gym will look like

The announcement is official: the municipal council has approved the executive project of the new gymnasium of the basketball citadel at Villa San Martino. Councilors Riccardo Pozzi and Mila Della Dora are convinced that the most important of the announced sports investments will start early and finish early. “The 4 million euro intervention, which involves the Municipality and Fip, obtained – they underline – the funding of the Pnrr and will allow a federal center of national importance to be brought to Pesaro. By 31 March, as scheduled, we will award the jobs”. The fact that the end of the month is around the corner does not scare the junta: “The project is ready for construction and before Easter – says Riccardo Pozzi – we will draw lots for the ten companies to invite to the tender. In the summer we will start with the work on the gymnasium and the service block”. The deadline for all the works financed with the Pnrr is spring 2026. Pozzi is convinced that the sporting part of the project will be done soon: “The new gym and service block will be done sooner – says the commissioner – while then we will discuss the first floor of the swimming pool and the headquarters of Casa Vuelle”. Indirectly revealed the mystery of how the 4 million available will be enough compared to the 6 necessary: postponing the completion of the swimming pool building to better times.

“The gymnasium between via Togliatti and via Paganini, approved by Coni will make Pesaro – say the councilors – a national point of reference for basketball. It will be made up of two blocks: the first, the gymnasium, will be on one level and will have a flat roof; it will be 8.97 meters high and will have dimensions of 35.4 x 22.9 meters. The second, the “services-changing rooms” that will overlook via Togliatti, will have a dimension of 6.8 x 24.8 meters and a height of 13.80 metres. The ground floor will house a 43m2 gym; two toilets; a first aid room; a storage area for sports equipment. The first and second floors will house the changing rooms for the athletes, and field officers; an office area with a meeting room; other toilets”. “The facility will house FIP changing rooms, gyms and offices – concludes Pozzi -. The flooring will be in sports parquet and the entire structure will meet the requirements necessary to be approved by Fiba and become a federal center at a national level”. Come on guys!
