Fluminense’s Under-20 already know who will be their opponent in the debut of Carioca in this season’s category. FERJ released the schedule for the Guanabara Cup, and Moleques de Xerém face Nova Iguaçu, away from home, in the first round. The game is scheduled for March 4th at 10am.

Who also makes his debut in a state competition for Tricolor is coach Ricardo Resende. More and more adapted to the club, the coach believes that Fluminense will have a great competition in search of the third state championship.

“We are very motivated for Carioca’s debut against Nova Iguaçu. We are making a great preparation and I am very confident that Moleques de Xerém will represent the club’s colors very well in the 2023 season. to form high-level athletes for the professional team”, said coach Ricardo Resende.

Two-time Carioca Under-20 champions with the titles won in 2021 and 2022, Moleques de Xerém are increasingly integrated with the club’s professional football game philosophy. The kids have been participating in training at CT da Barra with Flu’s main team in preparation for the 2023 season.

“We are experiencing a special moment with the integration of the Sub-20 with professional football. Diniz has been instrumental in this process, as in addition to giving the athletes the opportunity to train with the main team and participate in some Carioca games, he is sharing his ideas and philosophy of work with the base professionals. This strengthens even more the excellent work that is developed in Xerém and will be fundamental for us to make a great Carioca Sub-20”, said the coach.

After the match against Nova Iguaçu, Flu receives Boavista, in Xerém, on March 11th. The first classic will be against Botafogo, on April 15, at CEFAT.
