His rejection of this Independiente fan was not because of the rivalry of the Avellaneda teams nor because of the news of De Paul’s private life that flew over the gossip programs, but because the soccer player said “defend” the country, when wearing the National Team shirt.
The volleyball teacher who became a deputy echoed the Página/12 news and called the midfielder “brainless.” It is that for the anti-Peronist legislator the fact that De Paul exhibits his commitment to the men’s soccer team -from the phrase “defend my country”- It is a “big nationalism”.
