Badminton Pan American Cup: Mexicans start on the right foot

The first day of activity of the Badminton Pan American Cup threw good numbers for Mexican athletes who gathered at the Code Mayor Dome.

The duo made up of Job Castillo and Luis Montoya opened actions with a 3-2 victory against Vinson Chiu and Joshua Yuan representing the United States.

Tonic seconded by Luis Armando Montoya and Miriam Rodríguez during the afternoon session, the Jalisco team defeated the Argentine duo of Iona Gualdi and Nicolás Oliva in two sets of 21-17 and 21-9.

While Armando Gaitán beat 2-0 the also Argentine representative, Santiago Otero in the individual branch.

And also in the women’s category, Haramara Gaitán defeated the representative of Ailen Oliva by 21-13 and 21-11.

The contest that brings together players from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Peru, the United States and Venezuela; will resume action this Friday with the second day of activity.
