Chelsea introduced a reinforcement to the defense, Badiashile arrives from AS Monaco

Benoît Badiashile embarks on his first foreign assignment, swapping AS Monaco for Chelsea FC. The two-time French international will cost the Blues 37 million euros…

With this transfer, the 21-year-old stopper becomes the second most expensive defender from the princely club after Benjamin Mendy to Man City. Badiashile has signed a contract until 2030 in his new place of work.

“I’m happy to join Chelsea. I’m looking forward to playing for this club. I can’t wait to meet the fans and play in the best competition in the world.” Badiashile said.

“We are delighted to welcome Benoît to Chelsea. He is an outstanding young player who has quickly developed a great reputation and has a lot of experience for his age. I am sure he will be an important part of our team for years to come.” said London club owner Todd Boehly about the new acquisition.

Badiashile is a pupil of AS Monaco, whose shirt he wore for the first time in 2018. He has gradually joined the support team and has played 135 competitive matches and scored six goals to date.
