Horner jokes about Verstappen: “His weight started to increase”

Max Verstappen dominated Formula 1 this season. The Dutch Red Bull Racing driver won a total of fifteen Grands Prix and already extended his world title in Japan. According to his team boss Christian Horner, Verstappen let go of the reins after winning his world title.

Verstappen had a difficult start to the season, he retired in two of the first three Grands Prix. After that everything went according to plan and Verstappen was on the podium in almost every race. By the end of the season, Verstappen had won the world title and also had to cross swords with Mercedes and the Ferrari team.

Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner indicates that Verstappen relaxed the reins a bit in the last months of the season. At a Red Bull event, Horner speaks with a smile: “When Max had already won the world title and the constructors’ title, we saw that his weight gradually started to increase due to all the visits to the steakhouses in America and the taquerias in Brazil However, I’m just sure he’ll be back on weight by the time he has to jump back in the car in February.”
