Get to know David Datro Fofana, a candidate for a Chelsea striker as sharp as Haaland

London

David Datro Fofana is reportedly one step away from being recruited by Chelsea. The Ivory Coast striker’s sharpness rivals Erling Haaland this season.

According to the Guardian, Chelsea will reportedly secure the transfer of Datro Fofana from FK Molde. The 19-year-old attacker will be redeemed for around 8.7 million pounds or the equivalent of 165.4 billion.

Fofana was recruited by Chelsea, in order to overcome the striker crisis ahead of the continuation of the competition after the 2022 World Cup. This is because Armando Broja has suffered a knee injury and is confirmed to be out until the end of the season.

David Datro Fofana himself now plays in the Norwegian League for Molde, who is also Erling Haaland’s former club. Interestingly, this season Fofana has also appeared sharp like Haaland.

The player who was born on December 22, 2002 has scored 22 goals in 39 matches for Molde in all competitions this season. Datro Fofana’s goals are only one behind Erling Haaland, who has scored 23 goals for Manchester City.

As a forward, Fofana can play in two positions. He can be a poacher or a finisher and play a winger on the right.

Datro Fofana’s sharpness has made him the target of many European giants this season. However, Chelsea’s faster movement makes the striker more likely to anchor to London.

David Datro Fofana himself also idolized Chelsea. In a video uploaded by specialist transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Datro reveals that the Blues are his favorite club.

“My favorite club is Chelsea. I don’t know why, but I want to play for Chelsea,” he said.
