Sparta – Slovácko 4:0, Sparta clearly handled Slovácko

Letenští decided the triumph in the repeat of the May final of the domestic cup, which was won by the team from Uherské Hradiště, already in the first half. First, Lukáš Sadílek made his mark, followed by Tomáš Čvančara. In the second half, Lukáš Haraslín and substitute Adam Karabec were among the scorers. Sparta scored in 13 of the last 14 rounds. Slovácko lost in the league after two wins and is tenth. In the top competition, they scored the highest debacle since July 2019, when they lost 0:6 in Jablonec.

The match did not take place on the original date at the end of October, because Slovácko played Cologne a day later in the European Conference League due to fog.

In the ninth minute, Hofmann ran onto Kadlec’s cross at the back post, but Spartan goalkeeper Kovář managed to finish it off without any problem. On the contrary, the home team scored from the counterattack. Haraslín moved the ball to Sadílek with his head and he beat Nguyen as he fell in the box. The 26-year-old midfielder was not happy about his third league goal of the season, as he had just moved from Slovácko to Letná in the summer.

In the next chance for the guests, Hofmann found himself again after a bad run by Kovář, but he shot over the penalty mark.

A moment later, the match was interrupted for five minutes, as supporters from the home “cauldron” threw several flares and firecrackers onto the playing field and demanded the resignation of the club management. The rest of the stadium strongly condemned the behavior of this section of supporters. Sparta’s coach Priske and the injured captain Ladislav Krejčí Jr. went to talk to the unruly spectators. After the restart of the match, the “cauldron” gradually emptied.

After half an hour of play, Prague added a second hit. Zelený found Čvančara with a long kick, who overpowered former Spartan Kadlec and made it 2:0. The member of the national team scored the fifth goal in the year of the top competition.

At the end of the opening act, home midfielder Pavelka headed into the crossbar. On the other side, Petržela headed over from the penalty area.

Shortly after the break, Mihálik stretched from behind the penalty area and Kovář took his shot for a corner. He added the home team’s third goal in the 65th minute. Mejdra’s kick fell to Pavelek and he found Haraslín finishing in front of the goal. The Slovakian representative scored the first hit of the league season. At the end of the game, Karabec won for the second time in the year of the top competition with a ground shot.

Sparta did not lose at home in the league for the seventh time in a row. Slovácko did not win away from home in the top competition in four of the last five duels.
