Gwangju Bank badminton team smashed a golden smashing in the ‘2022 National Unemployment and School (University) Badminton Championships’.

The Gwangju Bank badminton team announced on the 14th that they had won the mixed doubles match held at the Namhae Gymnasium in Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam from the 7th to the 14th.

Kwangju Bank, which was formed by Choi Hyun-beom and Yoon Min-ah (Jeonbuk Bank), passed the round of 16 by bye. Then, in the quarterfinals on the 11th, Lee Sang-min (Yonex) and Park Se-eun (Ginseng Corporation) won the set score 2-1 (22-23, 21-18, 23-21).

In the quarterfinals held on the 12th, they advanced to the final by beating Kim Jae-hyeon (Yonex) and Park Hye-eun (Ginseng Corporation) with a set score of 2-0 (21-13, 21-11).

In the final on the 14th, the last day of the tournament, Kwangju Bank faced Kyung-Hoon Park and Yoo-Jeong Kim (Samsung Life Insurance). On both occasions, after a fierce battle to the deuce, Kwangju Bank defeated the set score 2-0 (25-23, 22-20) and took the championship.

Gwangju Bank badminton team coach Yoo Gap-soo said, “In the singles, I was very disappointed that I lost to Sangmu of the previous tournament, but I am happy to win the mixed doubles. He said, “I went up to the finals often, but I couldn’t get through the last marble. I’m also grateful to Choi Hyun-beom, who played an active part in the last competition before enlisting in the military.”

On the other hand, in the women’s doubles of the college division of the same tournament, the Chosun University badminton team formed a group with Yu Seo-yeon and Ahn Hye-won to achieve runner-up. Chosun University performed well, but lost to Incheon University in the final with a set score of 0-2 (18-21, 14-21).
