The National Police has named the President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Akhmad Hadian Lukita, as a suspect in the Kanjuruhan tragedy that killed 131 people. What is Ahmad’s role?
“Responsible for ensuring that every stadium has a proper function certification. However, when appointing a stadium, the LIB’s functional requirements were not sufficient and used the 2020 verification results,” said National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in Malang, East Java, Thursday (6/10/2022). ).
Sigit explained that PT LIB was negligent in not verifying the Kanjuruhan Stadium, especially regarding the safety of the audience.
“We conducted a crime scene investigation. Based on the results of the investigation, it was found that PT LIB as the organizer of Liga 1 did not verify the Kanjuruhan Stadium,” said Sigit.
Sigit said that the last verification conducted by PT LIB was held in 2020. At that time, said Sigit, there were a number of records related to the safety of the audience in the verification.
“The last verification was carried out in 2020 and there are several records that should be fulfilled, especially regarding safety issues for spectators,” he said.
Sigit continued, in 2022, Kanjuruhan verification was not carried out and was still referring to the 2020 verification. Sigit also revealed that there were no improvements to the records of Kanjuruhan verification results.
“In 2022, verification is not issued and uses the results issued in 2020 and there has been no improvement to the record of the verification results,” he said.
The National Police also found that there was no contingency plan to deal with the special situation of the Arema versus Persebaya match. In fact, said Sigit, the audience who came was more than 40 thousand.
“Of course, this negligence will lead to accountability,” said Sigit.
