First game after the stadium escape scandal |
United fans celebrate suspended Ronaldo
Manchester United’s first game after Cristiano Ronaldo’s (37) fuss!
At Chelsea they secured a point in added time and played 1-1.
Before kick-off, the Portuguese superstar wished his teammates extra luck via Instagram. “Let’s go @manchesterunited,” he wrote. Still, it’s not enough to win.
Ronaldo was suspended by coach Erik ten Hag because he went into the dressing room before the final whistle in the 2-0 win over Tottenham on Wednesday. He is said to have previously refused to be substituted on. In the dressing room he is said to have quickly packed his clothes and then left the stadium.
For this he was not only thrown out of the squad and had to train alone on Friday. He was also fined an alleged £1m.
United fans obviously would have liked to have had Ronaldo with them at Chelsea. Again and again they sing songs with his name.
Jorginho gave the hosts the lead in the 87th minute with a penalty kick. When everyone was expecting United to go bankrupt, Casemiro struck and made it 1-1 (90′ + 4′).
United star Varane has been sitting in the cabin for a long time. In the 58th minute he got stuck on the pitch and apparently injured his knee badly. He weeps bitterly as he leaves the square. The French are threatened with the World Cup.
