In singles number two, Nerea Ivorra beat Fátima Albín in three sets while Antonio Molina, who would have to come to the fore circumstantially, quickly lost in three sets against Dimitar Yavakiev.

Everything was left for the last two games. Bea Corrales easily won her match against a Paula López who would have to retire in the third sets, and left all the pressure for the last game of the day. It was then when a stranger to the corner parish delighted the public present at the Fernando Martín with a match that created an era. The 19-year-old Frenchman, Thomas Fourcademanaged to make an outstanding game by beating a whole Ernesto Bachwitz, one of the giants of the national circuit.

At the end of the game, Antonio Molina valued the victory as “A more than important victory. Not only because of the way it was done, but also because Arjonilla was a very tough rival as we could see last year in the semifinals that we played here. We have had too many setbacks before the game, even having to play myself, but the most important thing is that after three years we have managed to make our debut in the best way”.

Regarding Thomas Fourcade, the corner coach points out: “Thomas has been a target for us since that we saw in the French Badminton Championship, standing up to a world top 20. He is very young and still has a long way to go, but without a doubt it has been a pleasant discovery for us because, despite having the nerves from the first match with us, he has solved it brilliantly”.

To finish, Molina thinks about the league: “It will be difficult, like every year, but it was very important to win today against a great team like Arjonilla who will be up. Paracuellos, Valladolid and Granada are rivals of substance and it is clear that it will not be much less easy. We have made a team according to the demands of the league and our demands, and without a doubt we have more than fulfilled what we have been able to see today”.
