The Melilla Basketball Club was defeated in a very even match in which it left very good feelings.

The last game of the pre-season began for Club Melilla Baloncesto, with alternations in the scoreboard until, with a triple by Javi López, the team from Melilla went up 4 points, right in the middle of the first quarter. After a timeout by the student coach, the Madrid team came out strong and with a partial of 10-o in just two minutes managed to get away. Estudiantes escaped on the scoreboard and finished the first half with the maximum difference of the match. 25-18. The top scorer and the one who kept pace with the team was Javi López with 7 points.

Melilla Sport Capital started the second ten minutes of the game very well, the team managed to tie the game when barely two minutes had elapsed and just after De Blas got a triple that put Óscar Lata’s team ahead after several minutes without being by in front of. With this triple the Melilla Basketball Club got a partial 2-12. Then the second quarter began to be very even, until at the end of it the Azulinos achieved the maximum difference up to that moment, with which the first part of the match would end, 40-46. The players went to the locker room tunnel after having performed very seriously in the second quarter, with intense defenses and quite successful in attack. The most outstanding were Javi López with 12 points and Bamba Fall with very good defenses and 9 points for him.

The third quarter started just as it ended with a very serious Melilla who got the maximum advantage in the electronic score, 42-53, with which they continued for a good stretch of the quarter. 1 minute later the clash was still facing the Melillans, 47-57. But Movistar Estudiantes gritted their teeth and got closer with a 9-0 run (56-57). Although Club Melilla Baloncesto reacted in time and got some breathing room again, 56-63 with 1:40 remaining on the scoreboard. In these last two minutes the collegiate team got very close, to finish the third quarter 61-63.

Students started better in the last 10 minutes of the match, they managed to tie the game and took the lead after almost 10 minutes without achieving it. The last quarter stood out for the extreme equality, when there were 4:12 left to finish the match, the exchange of points between one team and another continued. Estudiantes finally won the game thanks to a better shot in the last minutes of the match. The final result of the match was 83-79.

With this game the preseason of the Melilla Basketball Club ends, we are already focused on the next day October 8, where we will face San Pablo Burgos, in the first day of the Leb Oro 2022/23.
