DFB women challenge France in Dresden

Dhe German soccer players want to shine in their first home game after the European Championships in England. The team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg calls for the selection of France on Friday (20:30 / ARD) in Dresden. In the last meeting, the DFB women beat the French 2-1 in the semi-finals of the European Championship with two goals from Alexandra Popp. The German Football Association has so far sold over 24,500 tickets for the game in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium.

The two Bayern players Lina Magull (Corona) and Giulia Gwinn (knee injury) as well as France professional Sara Däbritz from Olympique Lyon (ankle injury) and Frankfurt’s Laura Freigang, who is recovering from a shoulder injury, are missing from the European vice champions. The encounter, like two test games in November in the USA against the world champions, is already a preparation for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand from July 20th to August 20th.
