Victor Wembanyama is an “alien”: 36 points and victory

Let the game come to him. Maybe it was said Victor Wembanyama for this second round. Difficult to repeat the performance of the first match, especially since the G-League Ignite had decided to deprive him of the ball. But the pivot of Boulogne-Levallois was patient, and despite a limited number of ammunition, he still impressed with 36 points at 11/24, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks with this time, the victory at the end (112- 106).

In the first half, we were treated, in bulk, to an alley oop, a dunk on the counter-attack, a turnaround fadeaway at zero degrees, or even a drive with a little “hook shot”. Result: 15 points in 17 minutes at halftime, and if the Ile-de-France residents joined the break one point behind, it is thanks to him and Aaron Henry. Opposite, Scoot Henderson quickly threw in the towel, hit on the knee after a clash with… Victor Wembanyama. As a result, we saw the greedy Pooh Jeter a lot, while Cameron Young and the young Leonard Miller fueled the brand.

Under the eyes of Rudy Gobert and D’Angelo Russell, the second half begins with a 3-pointer from Wembanyama in the corner. Like a grown-up, he went to take this complicated shot that a Kevin Durant would not have denied.

This sets the tone for the 3rd quarter, and Boulogne-Levallois is back in front (70-66) thanks to Hugo Besson. But the player drafted by the Bucks shoots further and further, he does not put in, and that gives behind easy baskets to the Ignite which signs an 11-0 (77-70). Wembanyama comes out to rest, and the G-league team takes off (86-74).

When Wembanyama comes back into play, the gap is made (92-76) but there are 10 minutes left and as in the first game, he allows the Mets to pick up the score five minutes from the end (98-97). We remember this 3-pointer at 10 meters, this zero-degree fadeaway again, but also this big poster… Even if he plays it a little personal and forceful (2 out of 7 at 3-pointers), the result is there: Boulogne-Levallois passes in front (104-102) 90 seconds from the end. It was finally Wembanyama, supported by Tremont Waters, who validated the victory with an interception followed by two free throws (112-106).

In two matches, Wembanyama scored 73 points! The US tour was a huge success. The phenomenon is launched and nothing can stop it.
