The Champions’ Play-offs: A Midweek Update on the Race for the National Title

The Champions’ Play-offs are halfway through this midweek matchday. The 6th round is already scheduled for Sunday, the mirror image of what we saw on Wednesday and Thursday. Check out what the rest of the battle for the national title will look like here.

Match day 6

In principle, the members of the technical staff of the 6 teams in the Champions’ Play-offs will not have to work overtime, unless their homework from the past few days contained gaps.

On Sunday we will have a reflection of the matches of the past days. Racing Genk is looking for revenge against Club Brugge, Anderlecht goes for coffee at Cercle Brugge and Union and Antwerp close the match.

On Thursday, May 2, Club Brugge will have European action in Florence, but the next national appointment is already lurking around the corner.

Cercle Brugge-Genk is the first POI poster in May on Saturday evening, Club goes to the Bosuil on Sunday and the Brussels derby is the closing event.

Play day 8

Before the 8th match day can start, several clubs have other obligations.

Club Brugge will play its return against Fiorentina on Wednesday evening (!) (at 6.45 pm), while Union and Antwerp will take over Heysel on Thursday afternoon for the cup final (3.30 pm).

Because of these extras, the 8th match day is spread over 3 floors. Anderlecht and Racing Genk will look each other in the eye on Saturday, Antwerp and Cercle Brugge will follow on Sunday and Club Brugge will play host to Union on Monday evening (!).

Matchday 10

Is the champion already known? Do the European tickets still have to be distributed? Or will we get a climax like last season with a rollercoaster until the final minutes?

The final match day will be on Sunday, May 26 from 6:30 PM.

Ponit final? Not quite yet. Depending on who wins the cup and how Club Brugge still performs in the Conference League (final on May 29), it will become clear who still has to play the jump-offs against the winner of the Europe Play-offs.
