Courtois also received all kinds of swear words during the warm-up of Sunday evening’s derby. The Red Devil initially ignored the scolding fans and kept it with a grin, but then responded by referring to the tattoo on his arm. On it are his initials “TC1” and the Champions League cup of 2022. Courtois had the tattoo put after his large share in the Champions League win of last season.

“I do like a hostile atmosphere”, reacted Courtois after the won match (1-2) in front of the camera of Play Sports. “That gives me a good kick, adrenaline. After all, I’ve been playing these matches this way for many years. I just warm up with a smile and I listen to what they say, even if it’s very wrong. It’s just a parenting problem. I see parents yelling really bad things while the kids are standing next to them.”

“Not only here, but all over the world you hear all the swear words there is when you play on the opposing team’s field,” Courtois continued. “It is impossible. It’s just like you can yell what you want when you enter a stadium. This is something that has to get out of the way.”
