Jessica Pegula uncertain for Roland-Garros

With Roland-Garros fast approaching (May 26 – June 9), we can expect some package announcements. Jessica Pegula got the ball rolling in a story on her Instagram account. The 30-year-old American, fifth in the world, has already withdrawn from Stuttgart and Madrid due to an injury the nature of which she has not revealed. She has now formalized her package for Rome and leaves doubt for Roland-Garros.

“I will miss the Rome tournament and maybe RG (Roland-Garros). In fact, I feel very good, but I have to get back to training and take everything step by step,” she said, suggesting that the Paris Grand Slam would arrive too early in her recovery phase. Last year, Pegula was stopped in the third round by Elise Mertens (6-1, 6-3).
