A few weeks before the recovery, we are still waiting for trades from franchises, such as the Lakers. The Jazz also has a cleaning to finish, with the possible departure of other members of the roster. Mike Conley is a name that comes up with insistence, especially since the interest must be high to recruit the veteran.
Now that Donovan Mitchell’s trade is confirmed, the NBA is still waiting for its next big trade before the recovery. The franchises are stalling hoping for a good deal, which probably comes from the Jazz. The organization have clearly started a rebuilding process, with Danny Ainge open to all offers. Mitchell is gone, as are Rudy Gobert and Royce O’Neale, but there are still people.

We especially think of three players on the start side of Salt Lake City: Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovic and finally Jordan Clarkson. It does not mean that a trade is acquired, not when you know Ainge, known to be difficult in negotiations. Exchanges are possible, but only if the counterparties are interesting. We imagine that the Lakers are not very far away, but they are not the only ones.

In this article, Nekias Duncan recalls that Conley is still an important veteran, although far from his prime, with 13.7 points and 5.3 assists on average. It is not yet known where he will play next year, but the journalist has some ideas.
For a veteran like Conley, falling to a title contender is arguably a priority. But the negotiations promise to be difficult since most leaders already have a top level leader (Golden State, Phoenix, Milwaukee, etc.), or young players to bet on (Philadelphia, Denver) or veterans capable of doing the job. (Miami, Boston).
The Dallas Mavericks seem like the perfect destination in that regard. Conley could certainly fill the void left by Jalen Brunson this summer. Tim Hardaway (19.6 million contract next year) is enough to start the conversation, but we will have to find common ground here.
