Domenico Tedesco before Leipzig-Ko: Does Max Eberl have to look for a coach? | Sports

Tedesco before the Leipzig knockout |

Does Eberl have to look for the next coach?

It’s only been 107 days…

In May, the Leipzig bosses and Domenico Tedesco (36) hugged each other in the Berlin Olympic Stadium and celebrated the cup win.

Now RB and especially trainer Tedesco are in deep trouble. 0: 4 in Frankfurt. Only five points – despite the top transfers Timo Werner and David Raum.

Tedesco attacks his team: “We were terrible – catastrophe. If you play three systems and nothing changes, then it’s the mentality. We have to make sure that we get this sorted out immediately. Maybe the team looks at the starting XI and says: ‘Woah, awesome, it works by itself’ – but in football, in life, nothing works by itself.”

During the half-time break in Frankfurt, Tedesco is said to have gotten so loud in the dressing room that you could hear him in the entire cabin aisle. Didn’t help though…

Tedesco is threatened with job knockout if tomorrow’s Champions League home game against Donetsk goes awry. His cup win bonus is almost gone.

Club boss Oliver Mintzlaff (47) was silent in Frankfurt – and will think about an emergency plan.

The alternative coach lives on the doorstep: Marco Rose (45, ex-Salzburg, most recently BVB) lives in Leipzig, has no contract and is highly regarded in the Red Bull group.

Does Max Eberl (48) have to get the Tedesco successor as the future Managing Director Sport?

Only Eberl’s entry date is still open because negotiations with his ex-employer Gladbach about the transfer are still ongoing.

Eberl and Rose know each other from Gladbach times. They parted as friends and in tears when Rose moved to Dortmund.

Will Leipzig be their Bundesliga home?
