“As a Pole, I wish Robert Lewandowski that his team wins in Munich. But as a football player, I don’t want him to score a hat-trick. He already has so many records and achievements that he won’t be offended if I’m still better than him at this,” laughs Lesniak, a former Pogoń Štětín gunner, a Polish national team player and a striker for a number of German clubs.

Lesniak, who has lived in Germany for 34 years and is one of the biggest offensive Polish stars ever to play there, also became the only Polish footballer to score a hat-trick against Bayern at the Munich Stadium in September 1993 as a Wattenscheid player.
