Presented the 52nd edition of the Ciutat de Palma Basketball Trophy

The Plenary Hall of the Palma City Council, an emblematic place of the Palma Town Hall, has been the setting in which the official presentation of the 52nd edition of the Ciutat de Palma Basketball Trophy, that will face HLA Alicante on September 18 from 7:00 p.m. The template of Palm fibers attended the event together with the president Guillem Boscanawho was in charge of opening the event, thanking the attendees for their presence at the event and highlighting above all the importance of a tournament that for Fibwi Palma is “an enormous motivation”.

“We are going to face a LEB Gold team, a category that we lost last year after eight years playing it. Our objetivethat of all of us who are here today representing the club, is that next year, when we come to present the 53rd edition of the tournament we can say that we are a LEB Gold team again since that is our great dream”, said Guillem Boscana.

For his part, José Hila, mayor of Palma, pointed out that “the match is going to be a good match against an important rival” and he has had words of encouragement for the squad for this season. “It is a pride that you carry the name of Palma throughout the peninsula. You are an important team in our city in a very important sport and you are the reference for many boys and girls who see you as a reference. We look forward to a great season”, he pointed out.

John Feliu, team captain, indicated after the event that “we are looking forward to this season. Sunday’s is the first friendly match that we have and we hope to give a good image and show the work that we have already begun to do and that we hope will be reflected during the season” adding later that “We know that we are a young team and that we have to play with a lot of rhythm. We are working very hard and training a lot to be able to arrive in the best possible shape for the first league game against CB Talk and to form the team since there are many new players and the group must be formed to be able to play and get together in the best possible way”.

Mateu Bordoy, assistant coach of Fibwi Palma, explained that he faces the season as “a personal challenge” adding that “I have been at the club for many years, this is my second stage and I would like nothing more than to be able to help bring the team back to the LEB Gold”. Regarding the work of the team, he has indicated that “during these weeks we are carrying out an intense collective work. It is one more job of joining the team in the afternoon and doing individual work in the morning. We already have the Prat match in mind but this Sunday we have the match against HLA Alicante and we hope that people come to see the match and enjoy a good game”.

What Fibwi Palma’s second coach is clear about is that the main thing in the preseason is for the team to add positive sensations. “It is clear that the better the feeling we have in the games, the better for us. We are very focused on preparing for the first league game without forgetting that this Sunday we are going to go out to win against a LEB Oro team such as HLA Alicante”, he explained.

Bordoy who has sent a message to the fans. “We are working on a basketball that I think people will like. Fans who come to Son Moix will see good basketball, It’s fast and active basketball and we never let up. This Sunday you will be able to see, more or less, the idea with which we are going to play”.
