World number 3 Carlos Alcaraz battled to defeat German Jan-Lennard Struff in three rounds, as did Jannik Sinner, winner of Karen Khachanov.

Winning return for Alcaraz. After Shevchenko, then Seyboth Wild, it was Jean-Lennard Stuff, 24th in the world, who lost to the 20-year-old Spaniard (6-3, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (4)) after almost three hours of play. It was just as difficult for Jannik Sinner, who got up after losing the first set (5-7, 6-3, 6-3) against Karen Khachanov, 17th in the world.

Alcaraz will meet Rublev in the quarter-finals, while Sinner will meet the winner of the match between Ruud and Auger-Aliassime, currently in play.
