Prime & Co.: These two films will be available to stream from August

A group of women who want to be professional baseball players – that’s what “A League of Their Own” is all about. The problem: It’s 1943 and the female athletes have to fight their way to the field because the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League has yet to be formed. The story was inspired by a true story, a film was released in 1992, but the series wants to stand out from it. The perspective should be broadened: “The film is about white women who play baseball. It’s just not enough,” Abbi Jacobson told the New York Times.

She plays one of the main roles and co-created the series with Will Graham. It is intended to tell a variety of experiences: from black and white women, from the Latinx community, from queer and straight women and those who are not sure. “I think showing more representation is more important now than ever,” Jacobson told The Hollywood Reporter.

Both Jacobson and Graham are queer: “If two queer showrunners come along and say there’s a really important story about queer people that has been overlooked, then maybe that’s a more credible reason to do it,” she says to The Hollywood Reporter.

“A League Of Their Own” will be available on Amazon Prime from August 12th.

How does it feel to have a lot of followers? Danni (Zoey Deutch) dreams of breaking into social media. She is dissatisfied with her job and is also unsuccessful in her search for friends. So Danni decides to fake a trip to Paris on Instagram: without further ado she puts on a beret and photoshops herself in front of the Eiffel Tower.

The posts are well received, and her dream man Colin (Dylan O’Brien), who is himself a social media giant, also notices her. What Danni didn’t expect: A deadly attack occurs in Paris – and Danni has to react. She decides to continue her fake story and present herself as a survivor. But due to her urge for likes and attention, she slips further and further into a web of lies.

“Not Okay” will be available on Disney+ from August 12th.
