Kompany and Burnley suffer first season defeat at Watford | The Championship

On the third day of the English Championship, Burnley suffered a first loss from coach Vincent Kompany. On a move at Watford, The Clarets lost 1-0.

A win, a draw and a defeat. That is Burnley’s balanced report in the first three matches of the competition.

Visiting Watford, Kompany dropped the Belgians Samuel Bastien, Manuel Benson and old acquaintances Josh Cullen into the base.

According to the usual recipe, Burnley had a lot of ball possession, but scoring a goal was not possible. Tom Cleverley could do that right away.

Also a direct exclusion of Watford player Hassane Kamara in the slot could not help Burnley to gain points. Christian Kabasele was given ten minutes of playing time after the red card.
