Nick Kyrgios celebrates back-to-back singles and doubles titles at the ATP tournament in Washington DC

Shortly after his seventh tournament victory in singles, the 27-year-old also followed up with his fourth in doubles in Washington.

Kyrgios, who won the doubles title at the Australian Open with friend Thanasi Kokkinakis earlier in the year, defeated French Open finalists Ivan Dodig/Austin Krajicek (Croatia/USA) alongside Jack Sock (USA) 7: 5, 6:4.

Most recently, the tennis bad boy was in the final of Wimbledon in July, his first Grand Slam final in singles.

There Kyrgios had to admit defeat to superstar Novak Djokovic (6: 4, 3: 6, 4: 6, 6: 7).

With his singles victory in the US capital, the Australian moved back into the top 40 in the world rankings, from 63rd to 37th – although like all the players there, he did not receive any points for his outstanding performance at Wimbledon.
