Craig Tiley won’t be happy with a 1000 at the start of the season

The WTA Finals (for the first time this season) and the #NextGen Finals (since 2023) are already being held in Saudi Arabia, and now an ATP Masters 1000 event will also take place there from 2027 at the latest. Italian media initially reported this on Thursday, after this information was laughed out of the meetings of the biggest players in world tennis that were currently taking place in Madrid.

The date given was the beginning of the year. What at least one man wouldn’t like: Craig Tiley, the busy boss of Tennis Australia. Because that would probably make the United Cup history, basically the entire tournament series leading up to the Australian Open with events in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney (but also in Auckland, New Zealand) would be devalued.

Is the enthusiasm also coming to Saudi Arabia?

All events that did not have a high endowment. But there is one feature that will probably not be seen in the tennis developing country of Saudi Arabia for the time being: full stands with fans who love the sport of tennis.

The ATP, however, doesn’t want to know anything about this yet. And felt compelled to provide clarification on the short message service X.

It remains exciting.
