Repentigny deploys a vast program, on both sides of the L’Assomption River

Come live it!

Culture will vibrate the city center, but will also unfold in the neighborhoods.

A place par excellence to enjoy rich and varied cultural, sports and outdoor experiences, Repentigny will come alive over the next few weeks to provide the population with a memorable summer. Propelled under the theme “Viens le vivre”, the vast program it has developed offers a wide range of events and activities that will highlight the main attractions of the city: Cultural space, river and parks are all must-see places. that the community and day trippers can enjoy during their summer outings. This summer program will take shape in the four corners of the municipality.

Alone, as a couple, with family or friends, citizens are invited to attend major events and take part in a range of activities in the parks, which will allow them to explore the different neighborhoods of the municipality. Let us think in particular of the famous National Bank International Junior Tennis Championships, which this year mark their 35th anniversary and which will take place at the end of August at Larochelle Park. This major event will be preceded by the women’s provincial baseball championships, which will be played at Parc Laverdière and Parc Rivest, as well as the Union Lanaudière Sud National Soccer Tournament, during which more than 300 teams will compete on forty fields. In addition, there are many activities in the northern part of the territory, including heritage visits to Agathe-De-St-Père Park and the open-air cinema, as well as reading activities, family tuesdays and Zumba evenings will move to parks to get closer to families.

“Because the City has attractive green spaces for stretching or having fun outdoors, I invite young and old alike to come and have fun by taking part in the activities offered in the parks,” said Joubert Simon, president of the Healthy Lifestyles, Sports and Parks Commission. Zumba, outdoor fitness, parent-child yoga, reading animation and a Repentigny classic car show are among the many options available.

Culture will make the city center vibrate, but will also unfold in the neighborhoods, notably with the series La Boîte à Musique Desjardins which has recently taken place in Parc Jean-Claude-Crevier, in addition to taking place on the forecourt of the Théâtre Alphonse- Gardens. Artists, notably Ludovick Bourgeois and Dany Bédard, will perform there.

Major events, exhibitions, various activities, creative family workshops and musical performances will allow everyone to enjoy exceptional cultural experiences, – an exhibition and the outdoor interactive installation linked to the musical universe of the group, My America by Jean-René Dufort, Oktoberfest, Pop Dance on the forecourt: Special Cowboys Fringants, Mon Festival, Lumifest en cavale.
