NBA Summer League, a night to forget for us Italians

Tonight two Italians were supposed to play in the NBA Summer League: Paolo Banchero and Alessandro Pajola. The first did not wear the Orlando Magic jersey because, a few minutes before entering the field, he was informed that his Summer League was over here. The second, however, finished with only 3 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists and 2 steals in almost 19 minutes of use in the defeat of the Dallas Mavericks against the Utah Jazz for 82 to 83.

In short, we went to sleep with the idea that we would wake up with the highlights of Pajola and Banchero, instead we were left with a dry mouth for different reasons. We think it’s really a shame not to see the former Duke in action anymore but we also understand the fear of possible injuries that the Orlando Magic would like to avoid.

Pajola will return to the field with Dallas against Phoenix tomorrow night. The goal of the Virtus Bologna point guard is to redeem himself, improving his numbers and obtaining a success. It will not be easy because the competition is fierce but we are sure that he will give everything to impress the NBA scouts present there.

Basically, the Italians who remained in the NBA Summer League are the aforementioned Pajola and then also Matteo Spagnolo, who will play Wednesday evening at 10pm, Italian time, against the Milwaukee Bucks.
