Jürgen Klopp: From “The Normal One” to Normal Life at BVB

Now “The Normal One” can perhaps live a little more normally.

Jürgen Klopp (56) is leaving Liverpool FC after almost nine years. His new life begins at, of all places, BVB.

On June 1st, Dortmund’s champion coach from 2011 and 2012 will be there with his wife Ulla and children Marc and Dennis as good luck charms when his former club fights against Real for the Champions League crown at Wembley.

BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke (64) invited the family.

The Klopps are returning to Germany earlier. The new villa in the Sonnenberg district of Wiesbaden will be his new home in Germany.

In the future, he will continue to be committed to helping children with cancer in his heart city, Mainz.

The passionate padel player also owns a luxury villa on Mallorca in Santa Ponca.

After almost 34 years in the football business (as a professional and as a coach), Klopp can now just relax and unwind without worrying about players, opponents or tables.

Watzke to BILD: “Jürgen has done absolutely outstanding things, in Mainz, in Dortmund and in Liverpool.”

The BVB boss, who will himself step down from his position as managing director in 18 months, continued: “As his friend, I hope that he gets some distance, completely regenerates and spends a wonderful time with Ulla, his children and grandchildren…”

In July of last year, Klopp joked about his new role as a grandfather: “Finally, I don’t just look like one – I am one!” Dennis, the son of wife Ulla, had become a father at the time. Grandpa Klopp is extremely proud of his first grandchild: “A real blessing!”
