The World Baseball Classic back on stage. The fifth edition of the tournament will be held from March 9 to 21, 2023 and will feature the participation of 20 novenas, the largest number of teams in the same edition in all of history.
This Thursday, the World Baseball Classic announced the dates, the stadiums and the groups in which they will compete in the contest, which will once again have Colombia as one of the participating teams.
Our country will have a complicated area, in which it will face USAOne of the favorites, Mexico and Canada. In addition, it will collide with one of the teams that passes the qualifying stage.
The games of this championship will take place at the Intercontinental Stadium in Taichung, in Taiwan; the Tokyo Dome in Japan; the Chase Field, the stadium of the Arizona Diamondbacks, in Phoenix; and the loanDepot Park, the stadium of the Miami Marlins, in Florida.
In 2023, the number of teams will expand to 20 for the first time in tournament history. The 16 teams that participated in the 2017 Classic (among those Colombia) are invited to play in 2023, as well as the four teams that make it through the 2022 qualifying stage, which will take place at the Armin-Wolf-Arena in Regensburg, Germany, from September 16 to 21. , and at the Rod Carew National Stadium in Panama City, Panama, from September 30 to October 5 of this year.
