US Golf Open: Thomas Pieters passes the cut, not Adrien Dumont de Chassart

Pieters, 30, had a 72-shot first round on Thursday before posting a better performance on Friday with a 68-shot card with five birdies and three bogeys. With a total of 140 shots, the Antwerper is in 24th place, enough to pass the cut and play the last two rounds. He is five strokes behind Americans Collin Morikawa and Joel Dahmen who share the lead.

Second Belgian present at the US Open, Adrien Dumont de Chassart did not manage to pass the cut. After a first round in 72 shots, the Villersois returned a card of 75 shots on Friday with three birdies, five bogeys and a double bogey. Amateur, the Walloon Brabançon had qualified for the first major of his career by winning a tournament in Ohio last week.
