The judokas of the Butokuden Dojo of Saint-Pierre chain the competitions

After the Guillaume Claireaux challenge open to all club members, competitors traveled to France for the veteran judo championship and then to Halifax for the Numa Cup. These sporting events mark the end of the season for the judokas of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.

The latest competition for the Butokuden Dojo, the Numa Cup. It was June 25 in Halifax. It brought together judokas from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec.

At the local level, there were three young licensees to take part in this competition. Pierre Lizée, Timothée Lelièvre and Aldric Mahé. Competitors supervised by Jean-Guy Roulet.

Timothée Lelièvre, in U21, under 81 kilos, finished in 2nd place. Also upgraded to senior, he is in 2nd place. Timothée who had a double objective, in particular that of validating his black belt in judo and it’s done because he scored the 100 points necessary during the competition.

Aldric Mahé, in the Open category, under 73 kilos, climbs on the 1st step of the podium in senior. He ranks 3rd in judo on the ground.

Finally, Pierre Lizée, in U18, under 66 kilos, is unclassified. It was his first competition. There on the Canadian tatamis, he was very combative and if he does not make any podium, this Numa cup remains an enriching experience.

A week earlier and more precisely on June 18, 2022, William Lemoine, Laurent Delaunay and Christophe Letournel fought at the Tremblay-en-France sports hall.

And it’s a very good performance for William Lemoine. He is vice-champion of France 2022 in the less than 73 kilos (Master 8).

Laurent Delaunay finished in 5th place. He participated in the less than 100 kilos (Master 5).

For his part, Christophe Letournel, in the under 81 kilos category (Master 3) lost in the repechage after a first round against the No. 3 seed.

On Saturday, June 11, Butokuden Dojo graduates of all ages gathered on the tatami mats of the local club for team fights. Here there are no real competitions but solidarity, courage and friendship.

All were present to take part in the challenge dedicated to their judoka friend Guillaume Claireaux. Victim of a serious road accident several years ago, the young man now lives in a specialized center.

During this meeting, Lou Bergeron-Detcheverry and Hortense Salomon received the distinction of the most combative judoka.
