The first offer was rejected, Arsenal did not give up chasing Raphinha

London

Arsenal have not given up chasing Raphinha. A week after the first offer was rejected by Leeds United, the Gunners moved again.

Raphinha is indeed the main target to refresh Arsenal’s attack line, which is left by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

Meanwhile Arsenal can no longer hope to Nicolas Pepe. In order to make that happen, Arsenal moved quickly by making their first offer to Leeds last week.

Arsenal at that time gave a proposal worth 40-45 million pounds to Leeds to bring Raphinha. Unfortunately, the offer was flatly rejected by Leeds.

Because, Leeds know that Raphinha is worth more than that and they set a minimum of 65 million pounds for the Brazilian player.

After releasing Calvin Phillips with a tag of 45 million pounds to Manchester City, Leeds certainly want to get as much transfer funds as possible to overhaul the team.

Raphinha himself is the target of many European clubs. Apart from Arsenal, there are Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. Then from outside England there is Barcelona who has approached him since January.

Knowing there were many competitors, Arsenal’s management moved quickly again to raise their bid to Leeds. It is not yet known whether Arsenal will comply with Leeds’ request or not.

Quoted The Athletic, Arsenal will be more intense to negotiate a move for Raphinha. Arsenal certainly want Raphinha and Gabriel Jesus to come together at the start of the pre-season session.

As is known, Arsenal are also taking care of Jesus’ move from Manchester City for 45 million euros. Raphinha himself became a prima donna in the transfer market after making 17 goals from 65 appearances in the Premier League.
