Former hockey player Ladislav Olejník, an eleven-time champion with Brno, died

In the highest competition, Olejník scored 332 starts. He scored 46 goals and 64 assists. He won a complete set of medals in the league. Of the original six 11-time hockey champions, only František Mašlaň and Rudolf Scheuer live with Brno. Vlastimil Bubník, Bronislav Danda and František Vaněk died earlier.

After leaving for Germany, Olejník started training. He led Bad Tölz, Bad Nauheim, Mannheim, Frankfurt, Freiburg and Ratingen. In 1990, together with Erich Kühnhackl, he was appointed coach of the German national team, with which he finished last eighth in the 1991 World Cup. During his many years in Germany, he was inducted into the local Hockey Hall of Fame.
