Dutch Hall of Famer: Lucia Rijker
Lucia Rijker was one of the fighters who was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. She had already been elected in 2020, but because the previous two ceremonies had to be canceled due to the corona virus, Rijker had to wait until Sunday for the official ceremony. She was not physically present.
Rijker was unapproachable in the late 1990s: she won all her professional matches in boxing and kickboxing and put women’s kickboxing on the map in the Netherlands. Later she played – like Roy Jones Jr. – in several Hollywood movies.
In the Netherlands, Rijker from Amsterdam is also known for the TV program Dream School.
