Feyenoord is doing everything it can to keep Cyriel Dessers. The Belgian is currently playing on a rental basis in De Kuip and can be definitively committed for an amount of four million euros. Feyenoord will have to reach a personal agreement with Dessers and those negotiations have already started.
“Feyenoord is already in talks with Dessers,” Arno Vermeulen told NOS. “As they are now negotiating, we know two things: that Feyenoord want him and that they have the four million. Otherwise you won’t start a conversation. Smart that they are already doing that for the final. If he scores twice in the final, it will be difficult.”
Transferring the purchase option to Belgium is therefore no problem for the people of Rotterdam. “Feyenoord cannot pay Genk four million and say ‘he is ours’. They also have to agree with Dessers. The problem is with the salary. If a club comes that wants to pay three or four million in salary, he will not sign with Feyenoord.”
