Last weekend, Loan Pellegrino took part in the France Espoir championship. This competition took place on Saturday May 22 in Ceyrat, in Auvergne. Engaged in the category of less than 46 kg, Loan ranks 5th in this championship by losing in the 1/4 finals.
It’s a very good performance for the young Tavelois who, after coming out 1st in his pool group during qualifying, won in the 32nd, 16th and 8th finals. He lost in the 1/4 finals and finished 5th, in a category with more than 90 judokas.
“The national competition this weekend went really well, comments Loan. Indeed, I come out of the group first, which gives me a little advantage for the future. After passing the 32nd then the 16th, I met a person in the 8th that I had never beaten before. But this time victory was on my side! I finish in the 1/4 final, so 5th. But I come away fully satisfied seeing that all the efforts have paid off.”.
Franck Pellegrino, his father and trainer, adds: “This excellent result is the culmination of an exceptional season. Loan is having a superb championship in a category where there were more than 90 entries. 5th is an excellent performance, the medal is not far away…”.
