Hanamaki Higashi, 4th consecutive championship Spring high school baseball prefectural tournament final day | Iwate Nippo IWATE NIPPO

On the final day of the 69th Spring Tohoku District High School Baseball Prefectural Tournament, the final and third place playoff were held at Rising Sun Stadium in Noda Village, and Hanamaki Higashi defeated Morioka Daisuke 21-2 in the final. Hanamaki Higashi won the championship for the 10th time in four consecutive tournaments after the cancellation in 2020. In the 3rd place deciding match, Kuji defeated Morioka Daisan 6-5 and decided to participate in the Tohoku tournament for the first time in 5 tournaments.

Hanamaki Higashi led 5 points by the 4th inning, and in the 5th inning, he scored 11 points at a time, including two consecutive home runs by Riku Watanabe (3rd year). He won a big victory with 19 hits and 21 points. Morioka Daisuke returned two points in the sixth inning with a triple hit by Yosuke Sato (3rd year), but did not reach it.

Kuji caught up with 3-3 in the 6th inning, and in the 9th inning, he won by hitting two points in front of Nakamae in the 9th inning. Morioka San was close by one point, but Rikuto Komukai (3rd year) suppressed the pinch and escaped.
