A lot of blue in this first part of the 2022 season for the Itas Mutua Baseball Softball Club Rovigo. The relationship between the national youth selections and the Rovigo club continues to be very strong, especially thanks to the consolidated organization of the club and the beautiful facility in via Vittorio Veneto. In the last few weeks, three Italian rallies have been hosted in the diamond in the Tassina district.
First the very young of the Under 13 national softball team arrived in Rovigo, awaited by a busy season throughout the peninsula. Then the Italian Under 18 baseball team met in the Polesan capital and began the path that will lead to participating in European and World Championships in the category over the course of the year. Finally, last Monday the doors of the diamond from Rovigo opened to the Under 15 softball national team, which is also involved in preparing for the next European Championships.
However, for the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo the satisfactions are not only of an organizational and logistical type. In fact, in all three blue teams there are several athletes and rossoblù athletes. But there is a lot of Rovigo also in the other youth national teams: from the Under 12 and Under 15 in baseball to the Under 23 that will be in Nettuno in May, without forgetting the Under 14, Under 18 and Under 22 of softball. In total there are at least 15 players and the rossoblù players are permanently called up in the blue youth teams.
A great pride for the company of the president Alessandro Boniolo, which is flanked by the substantial contribution given to the regional selections. In view of the Trophy of the Regions, scheduled in Lombardy in the third week of June, about 20 young people from the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo are participating in the various gatherings for the composition of the Venetian selections. The rossoblù club is also present in the regional technical staff: Kay Chieregato is among the coaches of the Senior League of baseball, while Cristina Pollato and Enrico Barbierato will follow the Little League of softball.
Therefore, the feeling between the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo and the national youth teams is growing. Rally after rally, the Polesine company aims to become a real point of reference for the Federation in the geographical area of the North-East. A result of a fifty-year long commitment, which will find consolidation in new future improvement interventions on the diamond in Via Vittorio Veneto already in the planning stage.
As for the sporting results, the Easter week of the Under of the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo, supported by Adriatic LNG, recorded four matches postponed. The only joy comes from the Under 18 baseball team, who beat Ponzano Veneto at home last Wednesday with a 14-1 round.
