Judo: silver for Roberge-Poitras and Talbot in Vancouver

Two proud bearers of the Baie-Comeau Judo Club, Samuel Roberge-Poitras and Machiel Talbot, got off to a good start on a multi-day stay in Western Canada by each winning a silver medal at the Pacific International Judo Tournament .

This international competition held in the suburbs of Vancouver brought together more than 55 judokas. Both in the U16 category, Roberge-Poitras fought in the under 42 kg division while Talbot was in the under 46 kg category.

Machiel Talbot (left) also received the silver medal in the under 46 kg category. Note that Machiel is a hawker for the newspaper Le Manic.

The stay of the two competitors, supervised by their sensei Stéphane Talbot, continued with a training camp of three and a half days, still in British Columbia, this time in Abbotsford.

The two students from Polyvalente des Baies will then travel to the neighboring province, Alberta, for a second high-level competition, to be held this time in Edmonton.
