Neuquén basketball celebrated its 80th anniversary with authorities from FIBA and CAB

On the occasion of the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the Neuquén Basketball Federation, FIBA and CAB authorities were present at the Provincial Legislature for various tributes and meetings with leaders and officials.

Horacio Muratore, president emeritus of the International Basketball Federation, and Fabián Borro, president of the Argentine Basketball Confederation, met with Marcos Koopmann, deputy governor, Alejandra Piedecasas, Minister of Sports, and Sergio Gatti, president of the FNB and Secretary General CAB.

“80 years are not few, it is incredible and I am happy for everything that Neuquén has given to Argentine basketball. In the 2001 World Cup in this province, the Golden Generation exploded and then came everything we already know”, Muratore noted excitedly.

For his part, Borro expressed: “We are very happy to be able to accompany the Federation in this celebration. We had very productive meetings with the Minister, thinking about actions to complement each other and work together between the Neuquén Ministry of Sports and the CAB”.

Meanwhile, Gatti referred to the talks with Minister Piedacasas and the joint work between the Federation, CAB and the Province. “The Federation is making progress in its development, but we also have many plans and dreams. We are not satisfied with what is, and it is essential to work together with the Province. The conditions are given and I think we are going to achieve very important objectives”, pointed.
