Facundo Campazzo He is not living his best moment in his adventure in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets.
The former point guard for Real Madrid and UCAM Murcia played less than three minutes in Denver’s 122-109 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Córdoba player, who this season is averaging 5.1 points and 3.4 assists in 18.4 minutes and as soon as he entered Michael Malone’s rotation, he only had time to throw a 3-pointer.
In its column in the newspaper ‘La Nación’which was published before the game against the Grizzlies, Campazzo acknowledges being out of the rotation “is not the most comfortable thing for me. This thing of not playing as much happened to me in the first year in the clubs where I was, for example, at Peñarol and Real Madrid, so I could say that this second year in Denver is my first year in the NBA. Anyway, I take it as an apprenticeship, although I can’t deny that I want to play, that I want to show that I can compete. I’m waiting for my chance.”
Campazzo: “Something has to happen for me to play, it’s reality”
Regarding his new situation in the Nuggets, the Argentine point guard admits in ‘La Nación’ that “something has to happen for me to play, it’s reality, so I have to train hard, take care of the details to evolve in my game”.
“I see that the roles are well defined, so I don’t take it personally. And the reality is that I had opportunities and it went well, very well, badly and very badly, therefore, I put myself in the other’s place and think what would I do in that place. That helps me a lot to understand the contexts”, he reflects.
How has not playing much with the Nuggets affected Campazzo?
“The truth is that when I started not playing much I was more down, but honestly I get bored being angry for so long. Or think about what happens that I don’t play, I’m super calm with the situation, I go to every training session with the aim of getting something positive of each practice”, Campazzo is sincere.
