In Austria, the 24-year-old athlete finished 9 points behind her Swiss record (6515), which she established in 2022 in Munich, where she won European bronze. Geneva’s Mathilde Rey, resident of COVA Nyon, finished 12th (5969 points), although she discovered the Götzis event for the first time at 24 years old.
Among the men, Simon Ehammer experienced a little disillusionment. Leader after the first day of the decathlon, where he notably managed a jump to 8m25 in length, the Appenzeller was still in provisional second place after the seventh of ten events on Sunday.
