The main objective of the insular institution is to support young federated athletes from Mallorca who are of school ageso that they can access a calendar of competitions and sports activities that contribute to physical, mental and social development, in order, according to the note released by the Consell, “to turn sports practice into an opportunity to educate in values”.

In this way, the island plenary has given the green light to the aid that the following 21 federations will receive: underwater activities (12,262.47 euros), athletics (34,090.94), badminton (9,761.61), basketball (12,6369.15), billiards (4,319.71)boxing (8,375.22), chess (14,529.35), soccer (243,243.54), handball (20,046.08), horse riding (10,799.97), judo (35,524.38), motorcycling (12,300.76), paddle tennis (16,239.97), petanque (10,708.14)piragüismo (24,868.71), taekwondo (15,793.84), tennis (22,963.26), Olympic shooting (9,175.81), triathlon (15,201.44) and volleyball (41,146.35).
“These direct grants to grassroots sports are a way of supporting the practice of sports, which has many benefits, not only individually, but also in the social and collective sphere”, explained the Insular Minister of Transition, Tourism and Sports, Andreu Serra.
During the 2021-2022 season, the beneficiary federations of this aid line organized more than 11,000 sporting events, in which 45,894 young people participated belonging to more than 680 sports clubs in Mallorca.
