The Latvian U17 national team played its second match in the European Championship qualifying Elite mini-tournament in Denmark on Saturday. In the game against the home team of the Danes, our team made concessions with 2:3. In this match, our young people had to do without Haralds Silagailis and Kevin Cēsnieks, who were forced to miss one match after qualifying after two warnings.

The game started unsuccessfully for Latvia – the Danes scored after a half minute, when Valdemars Biskovs-Andreasens used confusion in our penalty area. Latvia tried to play back and after one of our team’s attacks in the middle of the half, the Danes made a counterattack, doubling their lead. Less than two minutes later, Elias Hansborg-Serensen scored his second goal in the game. Latvia once scored the ball in the opponents’ goal in the first half, but the referees recorded the back position. Therefore, going to the break, the result remained 0: 3.

After the resumption of the match, Latvia once again tried to “catch” in the game in this qualification cycle. After 58 minutes of play, the free-spirited Ivana Patrikejeva decided to go for goal as he struck the ball from the corner of the pitch. 1 – 3. Our team managed to create a couple more opportunities, but only managed to reduce the difference to the minimum in the last seconds when Robert Knitter stood out.
